Whether anybody is following or not I am following all the discussions on Linkedin as I do have enough time at my disposal

Break up of Thoughts

I find a trend in the comments made on Linkedin
Once a person comments on a certain pattern people join the rat race and continue to follow the pattern
They don't want to be left alone
They want to join and join the race
When one read the comment or view the question the thought process of that person is kindled and he/she is happy that he/she also can give a comment
It satisfies their ego and the thinking makes them satisfied and energised

Whether I have prepared well or not I always used to enjoy attending written examinations while I was a student and I continue to be a student as I am now doing my MBA in HR since I had no time while I was in service

The examination hall gives you enough opportunity without any distractions and force to sit and concentrate only on the work of answering the questions and the questions kindle your thought processes and this exercise gratifies me more than anything

I love thinking

Examination halls, travel time provide me excellent conducive atmosphere to think

Thanks for making me think more on these lines

God

Whenever I see Lightning, hear Thunder I am fascinated by them
They remind me of God, the All Powerful Force to reckon with
The severe they are the more I am awed by HIS Presence

Depression

Depression halts your activity
You are forced to slow down
It makes you to think compulsorily to come out of the depression
At times you stop all activity and your fight to come out of depression starts
It activates your resources and reserve energy
At times you stumble on new tools and new strengths that you have not noticed so far
Once you come out of it successfully you find yourself reinforced
Routine ordinary depressions are God's gift to all of us, I think
It is like a Halt & Go signal on the roadside
It makes you to stop think and proceed reinforced

Education in India

Upto High School level Children have to study together

Language

Mathematics
Science
Social Studies
etc

Languages have to be learnt to speak, read, write and to understand
Learn according to your needs

Many people are good at Mathematics

But they fail in Social Studies etc

Mathematics and Science can be learnt together

But where it is not possible for the child should the child be compelled to learn all the above subjects together

Is it necessary

Why not allow the child to choose either a combo of

Maths and Science

or

Social Studies with some other subject suitable for his/her future ambitions

More combinations can be worked out to tap all the talent

Walking on the Road

I am proud to be an Indian
I am proud to know the richness of this Holy Land
If I am to be born again I will choose only India
India has grown in many fields and is still growing
I note to share the Good Things about our Great Motherland now and then

But now I am going to pinpoint some of the leftovers to be attended by the Administration
Even if you live in a Grand Mansion you may have to clean a dirt or two that you may find here and there now and then

Walking on the Road

Most of our towns and villages do not have any road at all
Even in cities what we call a road is not a road at all
Road means that it will be smooth, without any pot holes, without any damages, with the right kind of gradient so that driving will be a pleasure and no water will stagnate even during railny days

When you think of the above requirements really we cannot and will not call most of the so called roads as roads at all

Actually they are forest foot paths fit to be used by elephants and other animals

And when they are not even fit for people to walk on how can they become motorable roads

But we live with them and walk on them and that too with small children walking by our side

Caution::

As mostly you do not have any pavements on most of the roads you only walk in the edge of the road exposed to the traffic

Even where pavements are provided they are either occupied unauthorisedly by some vendor or not fit for use being dirty and damaged

So whenever you walk on the road in India always walk on the right side of the road so that you can see the oncoming traffic and save yourself

In India we follow the rule 'Keep Left' while driving

When you walk with children walking beside you hold them to your right i.e., near the edge of the road and not on the left where the traffic is moving on the road so that the child is under your protecting care and covered from traffic by you

Education

Purpose of any Education is to shape and equip a person with the following :

Knowledge to discharge the work entrusted to him/her effectively and efficiently
To become a human being with more humane qualities - as now a days most of the people whether educated or not behave like wild animals minus the good qualities even the animals do have

To practice brotherhood of man and Fatherhood of God in its true sense
To realise the purpose of this birth and to progress in paramartha as required

As a Mentor I am trying my level best to impart these goals in the minds of the students who happen to listen to me and to the extent they can understand

Anger - Super Person

Anger comes out of frustration, inability, weakness
A strong healthy intelligent person never gets angry on impulse in an uncontrollable manner
He shows anger, symptoms of anger only to control, manage persons as a tool, so as to show his displeasure etc.,
He is personally not affected by the anger
He is not controlling or concealing anger
He is not actually angry, emotionally affecting his body and mind
But he exhibits anger as a tool of management
Because he is trained like that
Anger never affects him
He is not affected or perturbed by any event that makes many ordinary people angry
It is an art
Learn it so that you will not have ulcers,and you will become a Super Person
All can become Super Persons

Angry person's decisions, judgements tend to be wrong
When you are angry in the normal sense never take any decisions if you cannot manage your anger as explained above
There is a saying
Never promise or announce any gift to anyone when you are very happy
Never punish or take any decisions when you are angry (in the normal sense)

Why some people behaved so ?

We do see big people in responsible high posts, very high scholars, and so called great men behave childishly, in a silly way and at times indulging in immoral ways lowering their dignity and image in the minds of the society
We wonder whether some particular person behaved so ?
Why do so ?

Because A Tamil Sage and Saintly Poet Thiruvalluvar says that

However a man may be educated whatever great books he could have read and acquired high degrees in education
Only his natural behaviour imbibed in him from his birth will prevail

This may not be visible to us most of the times but in circumstances his original colour will be exposed to the society by his such acts and then the world wonders how could such a great man as he was could have behaved so ?

History is full of such examples

Hence beware of all and a balanced and required amount of caution in all your interpersonal relationship will help you always not to have heart burns on a later occassion

Work Pressure

Most of the time I have worked under pressure only due to the nature of my job
I first understand the problem
Chalk out strategies
Rope in additional support whereever required and available
Delegate properly some work
Monitor the progress continously
Keep a notepad handy reducing every thought into writing and arrange priorities
Relax mentally and refer to the notes now and then and strike off finished work one by one
Carry over the rest for finishing them in due course
Whenever time permits have a drink (water in India) relax a moment have a walk around the premises say Hello to someone and again submerge in work
When met with stumbling blocks shout aloud attract attention of superiors colleagues and never keep the problems to myself struggling for a solution
The support and intervention of Superiors and Colleagues and even subordinates will help solve the problem in no time and easily
Then Go Ahead in full steam

Real Experience in Managing Persons

I was a Branch Manager in State Bank of India in a small town
I had already surplus subordinates to do messengerial jobs
My superiors found one arrogant employee who tried to assault his previous Manager and he was purposely posted to my Branch
He was very arrogant and even will not respond to my wish of a Good Morning
Then I simply ignored him
I did not give him or allot any work to him
But I was very good at HR and my activities and actions in dealing with the customers and other staff was watched by him
He became very curious as to my intentions and could not digest that a Manager can also act as I did
His all previous Managers were authoritative and did not follow any HR practices
As I was found to be an odd man out of the Managers species he could not control himself any longer
After a few months he dashed into my chamber and shouted at me
'Why did you become a Branch Manager ?
Why are you behaving so ?
I am unable to fight with YOU'
Then I laughed and asked him what he wants me to do
He wanted work to be allotted to him hereafter
I asked him to take up any work he likes and do it giving him complete freedom and told him that I have confidence in him
Surprisingly he took up the work of assisting the clerk who usually closes the Branch Books in the evening which is very tedious and time consuming process requiring lot of patience and expertise
He started sitting late hours voluntarily with the clerk whose working hours are staggered while his was not as per the allotment done and help finish the work faster and with ease with his full committed assistance
I could only provide him my office car to go home daily evening as transportation to his village is a difficult one with less frequency and time consuming which he accepted gladly as he had no other alternative and it gave him a lot of satisfaction and raised his value in the eyes of his relatives and other villagers
That he is dropped daily in the office car meant for the Branch Manager
My offers for supply of snacks in the evening was not accepted by him
Such is the transition that took place in him and I was happy that atleast I could tap his potential and made it to the better use for the organisation
Thus so much talent is unfound and go waste in the world in many organisations

The interviewer should be sincere qualified and a better person than you knowledge wise
But in India mostly interviews are an elimination process and not a selection process
Real HR Professionals will try to bring out the best from every candidate and then evolve strategies to fit the person in the organisation suitably
As our learned friends have commented above interviewing requires skill and ability to judge
But most interviewers happen to be unfit for this job
But they had to do the job
And they do it as shabbily as possible
Where required we have to enrol the support outside experts and outsourcing at times is required to select the best people

Digital Media & Junk Foods

Nowadays many a parent expose consciously their children to cartoons on Television channels and provide gadgets to play computer games etc making use of digital media to divert them so that the parent can escape from the children to do their daily chores
But this trend makes the child tied to the digital media and deprive them of the open sky and pleasures of the outside world in their childhood
Then the children become addicts and as you have commented stop annoying and turn magically into angels - very silent angels and settle down and remain occupied for very long periods even forgetting their food and sleep and play glued to the TVs and Computers and electronic gadgets
And most of them prefer only junk finger foods which they find easy to swallow while continuing with their preoccupation of watching the TVs and the computers etc
Because of this exposure made possible in the early days by the parent himself to keep the child calm and alone without disturbing the parent the children continue to be so even when they grow up
The parent with the day to day complex life choose to ignore the old tested ways of bringing up the child and leave it to the electronic world to fend for itself

Work & Vacation

Regulated working hours, holidays and vacations are meant only to rejuvenate the employee
And we work only to live and not live to work
Vacations when allowed properly and if well utilised by the employee helps him to recoup himself and make him fit for further employment
It further improves his performance if otherwise he leads a normal life

It has been found that Abimanyu son of Warrior King Arjuna has learnt the tricks of warfare while he was in the womb of his mother hearing conversations between his mother and father
Hence efforts may be taken by the Government Social Workers Philanthropists to conduct free counselling and therapy sessions to pregnant women coming from poor families and to those requiring the same
Such steps will ensure that the next generation is mentally sound and safe

Sex Education

When anything is termed as a secret the normal mind gets inquisitive and craves to find it out somehow or other
And when one is unable to discuss sex openly then addiction starts
Proper sex education at different levels over the years and availability of a safe platform to discuss and learn the truth about sex will save many from being addicted to it

Policing and the Problems related
I am talking about the role and method of policing in Indian Conditions
You may learn if there is any from Indian Experiences
Police work is a 24x7 job
Hence the personnel should be willing to raise to the occassion always alert ready and active
Those who like love and fit to work from 10 to 5 or any working hours and decide to go home and rest relax are not suitable for the Police Force
And most of these people's energy level decreases from morning to evening and in the evening the energy level is almost zero
But in the Police Force the energy level should be uniformly maintained as even at the end of their task or daily chores they may have to face a tough situation requiring all their strength to do and complete that duty
The Police Personnel should learn the trick of relaxing at short notice whenever there is a short break in their daily routine and recoup themselves keeping themselves fit
They should get enough emotional support from their family and other members so that they will not be disturbed with trivial day to day problems
The family members should be able to carry on their life independently and moreover extend support to the Police Personnel so that they can concentrate on their personal welfare and keep themselves ready for any eventualities
With unlimited powers they tend to go astray most of the times
They should be given sufficient time to be with their families and to take care of themselves
Daily living should be made as comfortable as possible and required for them so that they can think and take care of the public whom they are supposed to safeguard
Periodical motivation rewards checks controls and proper training should be provided so that the Police Personnel may move in the right direction always

Leadership

Mostly leaders are born
At times leaders are created
When a person becomes a leader
He should be alert
He should be proactive
He should have a vision
He should create confidence in his followers
He should be able to decide on his own (He can consult any number of persons but the final decesion should be his)
He should have knowledge (if not- he should be able to collect information from all sources and should be able to grasp - digest - arrive at conclusions independently)

He should be conscious that he is responsible for the welfare of all his followers

I think this would do for the time being
People in general are always in search of leaders and simply follow the leaders like herds - it is easy for them to be so and to do so

Set priorities, list duties, allot time, delegate and supervise whereever possible and necessary
Review periodically work to be done and done
Find time to relax in between according to your requirement
Change strategies
Have contingency plans
Constantly update yourself and everyday you should improve and be better than yesterday

Life - How do you live ?

Most of the people in the world are led through life by parents relatives friends colleagues the society and circumstances
Only few are able to lead in life having visions dreams and ability to pursue them and they are the leaders
A Leader may be leading himself and need not have any followers
Even then he is a leader because he is able to atleast lead himself independently
Whereas many need somebody to follow and draw inspirations (good or bad) from the person whom they think are their leader
A person can have different leaders one for each activity

News papers and other social media are only after sensational news and do not show symptoms of any restraint in reporting
Many do not have the required training to expect and understand the fallout that they create with their reported information on the society
We have the only option of providing reinforcements to the teens afflicted with Social Anxiety as the social media only aggravates their predicaments
Good things positive actions mind elevating experiences find only a second place and the negative news are given the first place to boost sales

Individuals differ as jobs differ
Some persons are suitable to do certain jobs and not all are suitable for all jobs
It is a question of what a person likes to do as a job
The job content, nature of job, the hierarcy, infrastructure, environment and the mental frame of the individual all matters in making a person happy in his job
I find that many could not find the right job that is suitable for them but land in any job that they get
They have no time, energy or expertise and find ways to look for such jobs or change jobs
Few change jobs and it all depends on in what industry organisation you are in and what are your qualifications
When a person is not in the right job of his choice suitable for him then his/her out put is affected and he is unable to contribute fully
In bigger organisations the HR person can do some homework and assess the employees availalble and match them with the jobs available and do some shuffling which will result in higher productivity, growth and prosperity to the organisation

When there is a dispute and misunderstanding between two persons there may be trouble
Only a third person can intervene and solve it
First be sure that you are required to intervene
Do not intervene where you are not required or invited
If you intervene first study the whole situation and approach cautiously winning the confidence of both the persons
Then give your solution
You may succeed in solving the problem amicably
You have contributed to the peace making process

But if you sense any trouble in solving the problem then simply withdraw and do not get into further arguments and end as a party to another dispute
At times both the above persons may join and you may become a victim yourself
